Out Patient Department:

The Outpatient department functioning with separate Male and Female consulting rooms. Sound Proof Audiometry Room, Speech Therapy Room, Electronystagmography (ENG) Room and Endoscopy & Minor OT Room. A Demonstration room with Audio Visual facility is available for undergraduate teaching. Here we providing consultaion and treatment for various ear nose throat diseases. And we do evaluation of hearing impaired patients with Audiometry and rehabilitation with hearing aid under CMCHIS. We also have special clinics for Audiology (Monday), Allergy (Tuesday), Headache(Wednesday), Head and Neck Oncology(Thursday), Vertigo(Friday) for quality care services.

Ward:

Male and Female wards with treatment rooms and Duty doctors and Duty Resident rooms. 1 Demonstration rooms for undergraduate teaching.

Operation Theatre:

We have two spacious operation theatres with Zeiss Operative Microscope , Karl Storz Endoscopic camera unit and accessory equipements and surgical instruments. We are doing Ear Surgeries like various types of Mastoidectomies, Tympanoplasty, Lobuloplasty, Nose Surgeries like Septoplasty, SMR, Turbinoplasty, Polypectomy FESS, Throat Surgeries Adenoidectomy, Tonsillectomy, Microlaryngeal Surgeries , Elective and Emergency Tracheostomies etc.

24 X7 Emergency Care Services:

We are providing 24X7 emergency care services for Ear Nose Throat and Neck emergency like trauma with Ear / Nose Bleeding, cut throat injury, Acute airway obstruction with stridor, Foreign Bodies in Ear, Nose, Food passage and Airway.

The Department of Anaesthesiology provides comprehensive services across the hospital

1.Perioperative Anaesthesia Services
  • General, regional and monitored anaesthesia care for elective and emergency surgeries across all major and minor operation theatres.

2. Emergency & Trauma Anaesthesia
  • 24×7 on-call anaesthesia cover for emergency surgeries, polytrauma, acute abdomen, obstetric emergencies and life-saving procedures.
3. Pre-Anaesthetic Evaluation
  • Systematic evaluation of all patients scheduled for surgery.
  • Risk stratification, optimisation of medical comorbidities and patient counselling.
4. Post-Anaesthesia Care & Perioperative Pain Management
  • Immediate post-operative monitoring and pain relief in recovery areas.
  • Multimodal analgesia protocols and regional techniques to improve patient comfort and early mobilisation.
5. Critical Care & Resuscitation

Trauma and Emergency Care

The department operates a dedicated Level-I trauma center to manage accidents and emergencies. This facility provides prompt and effective treatment for patients with polytrauma, fractures, dislocations, and other musculoskeletal injuries. The trauma center is supported by an efficient Intensive Care Unit (ICU), anaesthetists, and Trauma Surgeons We also serve as a referral center for managing complications following trauma, such as infections, non-unions, and deformities.

Joint Replacement

We perform hip, knee replacement surgeries with high success rates. The department handles complex deformities and attracting referrals from across the district. Our surgeons use the latest technology and techniques to minimize post-operative complications and ensure rapid recovery.

Spinal Surgery

Our spinal surgery services include treatments for disc herniation, spinal fractures, and degenerative conditions. These surgeries are carried out by orthopaedic department to ensuring comprehensive care for a wide range of spinal disorders.

Sports Medicine

The department specializes in the treatment of sports-related injuries, such as ligament and meniscal tears, cartilage injuries, rotator cuff tears, and dislocations. We also offer rehabilitation services to support recovery.

Orthopedic Oncology

The department provides specialized care for bone tumors, both benign and malignant. This includes surgical excision, reconstruction, and post-operative care.

Foot and Ankle

The department provids management of both congenital and acquired deformities, such as flat feet, bunions, and hammer toes, as well as pathologies of the tendons and sports injuries around the foot and ankle. We also specialize in options offering relief from degenerative arthritis, including fusions of the ankle.

Hand Surgery, Spine Surgery and Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgery

In addition to the core orthopaedic services, the institution also offers specialized hand surgery and paediatric orthopaedic and spine surgery services.   • Our department has been involved in Organised Cancer Screening (OCS) Pilot study (TNNCD) under JICA-TNHSP(Japan International Cooperation Agency- Tamilnadu Health System Project)

  • The Department Conducts Out Patient Clinics on all week days. We have an OP census of around 1200 to 1500 cases per month average IP cases of 25 to 30 cases per month.
  • The Department provides In-patient clinics to patients who are acutely ill and unmanageable at home.
  • The Department has a separate Behavioural Sciences Ward catering to children referred from Juvenile Justice Boards.
  • Patients referred from Regional Medical Board for various purposes like pension Transfer, Disability assessment, availing scribe for writing Public Examinations, etc., are assessed and certified.
  • Medico Legal cases sent from the Honorable Courts are evaluated and opinions submitted to the court.
  • We conduct MANAM programme for the medical and paramedical students.
  • The department also conducts MI home visits quarterly.
